PracticalHands-on

Personal Safety Built Around Better Decisions

Always On GUARD™ is a practical personal-safety course built around awareness, communication, avoidance, and appropriate response. Participants learn to recognize developing problems earlier, set clear verbal boundaries, create distance and exits, use practical defensive responses when necessary, recover from common positions, and make sound post-incident decisions.

The emphasis is not on winning a fight. It is on recognizing risk, using available resources, acting decisively when required, recovering control, getting safely away, and calling for help when needed. Training can include progressive drills and scenarios that connect awareness, verbal skills, movement, physical response, recovery, departure, and calling for help.

The GUARD™ Framework

GUARD™ — Gauge · Use Your Resources · Act · Recover · Depart & Dial

Course Emphasis

Awareness And Avoidance Come First

Physical technique is not the entire course. The goal is to recognize problems earlier, create safer choices, act effectively when necessary, and leave the situation as soon as safely possible.

Why a Repeatable Framework Matters

Different emergencies share one reality: the first useful action often belongs to the people already there.

2–3×Immediate CPR can double or triple a person’s chance of surviving cardiac arrest.
67%of incidents in the FBI’s 2000–2013 active-shooter study ended before police arrived and could engage the shooter.
>70%of rescues at one high-volume National Park unit involved uninjured people who were unprepared and/or made unwise decisions.
